Danbury Hockey Booster Club
The Danbury Hockey Booster Club was re-established in August 2007 and set out to execute on the following Mission Statement:
To provide an opportunity to our diverse population of Danbury children to learn and play the sport of Ice Hockey resulting in continuing youth and feeder programs that enable Danbury High School to bring back and sustain an Ice Hockey Team by the year 2009.
Along with
Danbury
High School and the Greater Danbury Community we have made tremendous progress over the last 15 months.
Below is a list of accomplishments.

Re-started the DHS Hockey Booster Club

Established Fundraising Plan

Launched website with registration process

Grew Booster Club membership to over 50 families, many of which have children in elementary and middle School.

Identified and tracking progress of over 75 kids playing or learning the sport of ice hockey in Danbury.

Provided free ice hockey lessons with DIA to Danbury youth in month of December 2007and March 2008.
Danbury Ice Arena has continued this program on a regular basis and is again offering free lessons in 12/08 including all necessary equipment.

Developed strong relationships in community especially with Danbury Police, Danbury Fire.
Note:
Danbury Police and Fire also conducted free hockey clinics.

Established excellent working relationship with DHS.

Obtained over 300 signatures in Danbury community supporting an ice hockey program at DHS.

Received approval from the Danbury Board of Education to co-op with one or more schools in the Danbury area.

Formed a partnership with Brookfield and Bethel HS to play as one HS hockey team and received approval from the CIAC to begin play December 2008.

Merged efforts with the Brookfield/Bethel Blueliners Booster Club and jointly fundraise.
